This free, plain-language course walks you gently through the everyday ways families keep in touch today: sending a text, making a video call so you can see their faces, and sharing photos back and forth. No jargon, no rushing, and nothing to buy.

You will learn how to send your first text and photo, make a video call on an iPhone or Android, join a family group chat, and do it all safely. We go one small step at a time, the way you would show a friend.

Who it is for: anyone new to smartphones or nervous about “doing it wrong,” and the families who love them.

Time: about 40 to 45 minutes (7 short lessons plus a quick quiz). It is free, there is no account required to learn, and you can retake the quiz as many times as you like.
